We are registered with the Information Commissioner's Office under registration reference ZB739716. You can check that on the ICO's public register at ico.org.uk.

This notice covers this website, etheraedge.com, and nothing else. Our products have their own notices: etherasites.uk/privacy for EtheraSites, and etheraguru.com for EtheraGuru, which a separate company sells in India. See EtheraEdge in India.

There is no form on this website. Nothing you do here sends us your details unless you choose to write to us.

If you email us, we receive whatever you put in that email: typically your name, your email address and your message. We use it to reply to you and, if a commercial relationship follows, to deal with it. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in answering an enquiry you started, or taking steps at your request before entering into a contract.

Our web server records the ordinary things a web server records: the IP address a request came from, the page asked for, the time, and the browser's user-agent string. We use those to keep the site running and secure, on the basis of our legitimate interest in operating it. We do not use them to build a profile of you.

This website currently runs no analytics at all. If that changes we will use Umami, which we host ourselves, which sets no cookies and cannot follow you to another website. We will update this page before it goes live.

We do not buy contact details, we do not sell yours, and we do not add you to a marketing list because you visited or wrote to us.

This website sets no cookies. There is no cookie banner because there is nothing to consent to.

These suppliers process data on our instructions and only for the purpose listed. Each is a processor; we remain the controller.

OVHcloud: hosting for this website, in its London region.

Cloudflare: DNS for etheraedge.com, and the global network that carries requests to this website and screens bot traffic.

Microsoft: the mailbox that receives email sent to our addresses, in Microsoft 365.

GitHub: where this website's content and code are stored and built.

If you write to us about EtheraGuru in India, we may forward your message to EtheraEdge Solutions Private Limited, the separate company that sells and supports EtheraGuru there. We will say so when we do it, and we will not forward anything else.

The website is hosted in the United Kingdom, in OVHcloud's London region. Email is processed in Microsoft's UK and European Union regions. Cloudflare operates a global network: it answers DNS queries and also carries requests to this website, handling each visitor's connection at whichever of its locations is nearest to them, which may be outside the United Kingdom and the European Union. The server itself does not move.

Where any transfer outside the United Kingdom is unavoidable, it relies on the UK International Data Transfer Addendum or the UK extension to the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

Enquiries that do not lead to a business relationship: deleted twelve months after the last message.

Server logs: thirty days.

Records of work we have done and the money involved: six years, because HMRC requires it.

You can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, ask us to restrict what we do with it, ask for it in a portable form, or object to our using it at all. Email [email protected] and we will answer within one month.

If you are not satisfied with our answer you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office, Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire SK9 5AF, on 0303 123 1113, or at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint.

This website is not directed at people under 18 and we do not knowingly collect anything about them through it.

When this notice changes we replace it here and change the date at the top of the page. We do not keep a separate archive of previous versions; if you need one, ask us.
